Something has shifted. Leaders across sectors describe the same experience: the ground keeps moving, the maps no longer match the territory, and the management vocabularies most of us were trained in feel inadequate to the moment. This is not a crisis of competence. It is the experience of living - and leading - inside a transition.
At soul.com, we have spent twenty-five years working at the intersection of organisational transformation and community development. We have learned that transitions cannot be managed — they have to be navigated, from the inside. This series of articles is our attempt to listen deeply to leaders who are doing exactly that, and to learn together what it actually takes.
A living inquiry, in cycles. The series is structured in cycles. Each cycle runs for twelve weeks, moving through a framing article, in-depth conversations with leaders who are currently inside real transitions, and two pattern reflections that name what is emerging across the portraits. Each cycle closes with a reflection — not a conclusion, but an opening into the next.
We are not writing toward answers. We are writing toward better questions — and we expect the questions to deepen as the inquiry grows.
